GIA collaborated with its subsidary in UK, Quiddity, on an extensive project involving the structuring and fundraising for a 500MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) portfolio in the UK.
Renewable energy developer TagEnergy and independent energy specialist Balance Power entered into a milestone partnership to build, own, and operate 500MW of new energy storage projects in the UK, contracting GIA and Quiddity for advice.
TagEnergy will become the majority owner of these projects, which will require an investment of over £300m over the next four years. This partnership will not only expand TagEnergy’s existing portfolio of projects but also strengthen Balance Power’s development pipeline.
The collaboration aims to drive the UK towards establishing a clean and secure energy system while contributing to the national target of decarbonization.
GIA aided Quiddity in developing a robust financing strategy for this BESS portfolio, considering the unique characteristics and challenges associated with such endeavors.
