Infrastructure buy-side advisory: common questions

Answers from Global Infrastructure Advisors. Meet our team and explore our published infrastructure experience.

What does GIA's infrastructure buy-side advisory cover?

GIA supports investors assessing infrastructure assets and development platforms through commercial analysis, financial modelling and coordinated due diligence. The agreed role can include valuation and scenarios, bid preparation, adviser coordination and support with commercial negotiations.

How are development-stage acquisitions assessed?

The assessment considers what has actually been secured, what remains conditional and how further development affects funding and value. GIA reviews the available project information and assumptions so the bid case reflects unresolved risks as well as the proposed opportunity.

Can due diligence change the proposed acquisition terms?

Yes. Findings can affect valuation, funding requirements, risk allocation or the conditions for proceeding. GIA helps explain and, where possible, quantify those effects so the client can assess revised terms with its legal and other specialist advisers.

Does GIA recommend proceeding with every transaction it reviews?

No. GIA's analysis may support proceeding, revising terms or choosing not to pursue an opportunity. The work is organised around the investment decision and the evidence available, with outstanding issues made clear to the client.
