When is an early-stage red flag review useful?
A red flag review is useful before committing to a wider diligence programme or transaction process. GIA focuses on issues that could materially affect the decision to proceed and identifies the evidence or specialist investigation needed next.
What does a red flag report contain?
The report records the material issue, its potential commercial or financial implications and the recommended follow-up. GIA also states the information reviewed, information unavailable and matters outside scope so the client can understand the limits of the conclusions.
Does a clean red flag report mean the investment is low risk?
No. A focused review may identify no material issue within the information and scope examined while significant uncertainty remains elsewhere. GIA distinguishes unresolved information from reviewed findings and sets out what further diligence is needed.
How are red flag findings prioritised?
Findings are prioritised by their potential effect on the investment or project decision, rather than by the number of documents involved. GIA highlights matters that could affect economics, delivery or the proposed transaction and identifies the next action for each.
