Project context
The Zambia Lobito Railway is a planned approximately 830 km greenfield line between Chingola in Zambia and Luacano in Angola. It will connect with the existing Benguela railway, providing a freight route towards Lobito on the Atlantic coast. AFC is the project’s lead developer.

The mandate
GIA is supporting Africa Finance Corporation on the development of the Zambia–Lobito railway, a freight rail project connecting Zambia and Angola.

- Project Development Advisory: general advisory support as the project progresses through development.
- Financial Modelling: financial analysis to support the project’s development decisions.
Current stage
The assignment is ongoing. GIA continues to provide project development advisory and financial modelling to AFC.
